Steaua Bucharest - Concordia Chiajna 23.07.2012

Steaua is looking more offensive this season than in the previous one, at least this is what was noted during the summer friendlies.

The attacking players are performing well but, mainly due to injuries, their defense is quite shaky and they allow many chances to the opposition. They have transferred Rocha from Chiajna who is supposed to be their main goal scorer this season, along with coach reghecampf from the same team, the guy who implemented their attacking approach.

Chiajna lost many players this summer but also bought a lot to replace them. They did the same in the winter and this tactic somehow worked. Now they are coached by Ilie Stan, a former Steaua coach and player, a guy also known for their attacking approach of the game. From my point of view, they are weaker than last season and they have slim chances to survive another year in the first league.

I’m not in awe after Steaua’s summer results since they have played against bad or depleted sides. Basel was just starting their preparations, Red Bull played with a mixed squad, while Litex came with some kids to play. However, they are showing the will to attack and this is enough to score,e specially against Concordia at home. A bet on goals looks like the most suitable one here since I don’t rule the visitors from scoring at least once.
