Brann – Lillestrom 09.08.2013

Brann are currently on the sixth position with 26 points. They are not in good form at the moment, even more they are in small crisis.

Brann have lost from Molde and Rosenborg in the previous two Tippeligaen matches. Having on mind that Brann played two draws before that (Honefoss and Start), they are in series of four consecutive games without a win. But something else is important for my picks – Brann are playing efficient matches at home.

Brann coach Rune Skarsfjord has three worries in front of this match – the Macedonian international Daniel Mojsov is suspended after saw red card against Molde (that is the key reason why Brann didn’t score on that match, they played with 10 men almost the whole match as Mojsov was sent off in 14th minute), while two more players are struggling with injuries and both are rated as doubtful – Markus Jonsson and Fredrik Nordkvelle.

Lillestrom are four points and four places behind Brann (on 10th place with 22 points). However, they are in good form and have two wins and one draw on the last three league matches. Lillestrom managed to beat Sarpsborg and Molde, while shared the points with Viking in the last round. They have scored five goals on the mentioned three games (Fredrik Gulbrandsen, Bjorn Helge Riise, Thorstein Helstad, Erling Knudtzon and Palmi Rafn Palmason were the scorers). The positive moment is that the coach Magnus Haglund has a fully fit squad to choose from. The atmosphere in the squad is very good and the players confidence are high.

The tradition is also with my pick. Five of the previous seven mutual games between these two teams have finished with Over 2.5 goals. I expect an at least three goals in Bergen.
