CFR Cluj – Braga 20.11.2012

Well situation is clear in this poor group:Manchester is topping the group with 4 wins and Galata is second with 4, CFR also has 4 and Braga 3, so for second place nothing is decided.

Considering that Galata will play at home against Manchester reserves and let’s just say they wont have such hard game on paper, although Manchester wont surrender and they have quality also on bench, Braga needs to win this one. They will play last game at home against Galata so they’ll have an advantage if they manage to keep the distance after this round.

First leg ended 0-2, CFR took a surprising win, but it was more of a underestimation from Braga and the big will of some portuguese players from CFR to prove something, but even so CFR was lucky in that game, Braga missed many chances, and CFR was very effective. But all teams from this group, except United, have problems in playing positional attack. All failed to win at home, Galata-Braga 0-2, CFR-Galata 1-3, Braga-CFR 0-2, Galata-CFR 1-1.All this 3 love to play on counters, as they have speedy players up-front suite for this style.Braga also makes more clean sheets in Portuguese League away from home than at their place.Braga comes after being defeated twice by Manchester but they didnt lef a bad impression, in both games they had the lead and failed in last minutes. In Portugal they received 3 in last 10 minutes and in England they had 2-0 lead, Alan scoring a double.Alan scored also at home.Braga is better team here.

CFR won first game, but at that time they were in good mood, having successive wins against Liberec or Basel, they were coming with good confidence.Things are different now.In the league they are struggling big time, they also changed the coach recently, bringing portuguese Paolo Sergio, but they had a good game at his first game, winning clearly against Brasov and then they returned to their poor displays, losing this weekend 0-2 against Astra, playing some shitty football, they were so poor.Coached blamed it on refs, and it’s true first Astra goal was from offside, but he’s just trying to hide his team impotence, since they barely create one or two chances against Astra. The pressure is on CFR now, like it was on Braga in first game, and seeing how bad momentum they are trailing, i dont see how they can escape without being defeated by a much more gifted side and with bigger experience for this kind of games.
