Hoffenheim – Dortmund 14.12.2013

Borussia Dortmund will be looking to return to winning ways in Bundesliga when they face Hoffenheim on the road on Saturday afternoon.

Both team have been impressive up front this term, meaning that we are about to see a lively contest Baden-Wurttemberg.

Hoffenheim have established themselves as a mid-table side in Bundesliga and the new season has been a mixed bag for Markus Gisdol’s men who are sitting in 11th place in the standings. Hoffenheim have been scoring goals for fun in the new campaign, but the team have not been as impressive at the back in the new campaign and I really enjoy watching the Baden-Wuttemberg side. The team’s top scorer this season is Brazilian Fermino, who has netted eight goals to date, and it has to be noted that Hoffenheim have already scored 34 goals in the new campaign. Markus Gisdol’s men are never afraid to attack their rivals and I am positive that the hosts will stick to their attack-minded style of football. Even though Hoffenheim have already lost to the likes of Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen this term, I believe that they are capable of making life difficult for the last season’s Champions League runners-up.

Following a 1-0 defeat to Leverkusen in the last round, Borussia Dortmund have reduced their chances of winning the Bundesliga title. The Millionaires dropped to third place in the standings and they are no less than 10 points adrift of defending champions Bayern Munich ahead of their trip to Hoffenheim. On the other hand, Jurgen Klopp’s side finished atop their group to reach last 16 of the Champions League and the team are brimming with confidence after a 2-1 win over Marseille in midweek. Jurgen Klopp still cannot count on his key defenders Hummels and Subotic, but to make things even worse, yet another centre back Sokratis will miss the Hoffenheim game as he was shown a second yellow card against Bayer Leverkusen. As always, the Millionaires will look dangerous up front and Robert Lewandowski will be looking to continue his goal-scoring run after finding the net at Stade Velodrome. In their last away fixture Borussia Dortmund defeated Mainz 3-1 and seeing that Hoffenheim struggle at the back, there is every chance the visitors will score at least one goal in this clash.
