Spartak M. – Benfica 23.10.2012

Spartak lost to Anzhi in the weekend in the Russian Premier league and they r in the worst negative record ever since 2009, a negative record of 3 defeats in a row,

before Anzhi they lost to CSKA and Celtic in CHL.
Mcgeady is injured so probably Jurado may be given a start, Parshivljuk and Gatagov are injured as well, while Insaurralde is suspended.
Benfica has a full squad to choose from, with only Luizao long term absentee: Cardozo upfront will be supported by Martins, Aimar and Gaitan.

Spartak lost the first 2 CHL games 3-2, away to Barcelona and at home vs Celtic. In both matches they were leading 2-1 and should they had retained the result, they would have been leading now the group. Instead they are bottom, with 0 pts. Benfica drew to Celtic 0-0 in the opening match, be4 losing 0-2 to Barcelona. Portoguese team have a single point so far and among the very few teams still to score a goal in this CHL campaign.

Whichever team is gonna lose this one will see the aspirations to keep on playing in Europe, let it be CHL or EL, extremely reduced. None of these 2 could afford a defeat, but on the other side a draw would suit nobody since only winner of it may be Celtic.
I am pretty much sure that Benfica is gonna score once, I do not believe a team with such an attacking potential will remain goalless for 3 consecutive matches in CHL, and looking at Spartak defense, I am almost sure it is gonna happen.
