Stoke – Tottenham 12.05.2013

Tottenham won a point at “Stamford Bridge” in the midweek and are still in the fight for the top four and a Champions League spot, but still they need help from their opponent to make it. The least Spurs can do is win their last two league games and in the same time pray that either Arsenal will make one mistake or Chelsea two in the last two rounds. The Gunners have tough game as visitors against Newcastle in the last round, while Chelsea has not bad program against Villa and Everton in the last two games, but between them they will play a final against Benfica in Europa League, so this will make their job really hard as well. Tottenham have not lost in six straight league games (3-3-0) and they are showing good form in this last part of the campaign. Also with Defoe and Lennon back in the squad and Dembele also back in the team after recovering from his injury, it looks like Boas will have all his stars available for those last two weekends.

The 2:3 home defeat for Wigan means that Stoke is already safe for their place in the Premier League two rounds before the end of the campaign, as they have six points advantage and 13 goals better goal difference from the 18th place with two games to be played. Stoke won just twice in their last nine home matches in the league (2-3-4) and I think that tomorrow Tottenham will manage to scoop all the points from “Britannia” as well.
