First league victory for PSG


Before twenty teams kicked off the new season in French Ligue 1, Paris Saint Germain was the clear favourite to clinch their third title with their great transfers like Lucas Moura, van der Wiel, Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva and Lavezzi.

 

When the new season started off, Carlo Ancelotti’s men understood that it will not be more difficult than they thought.

In their first fixture, they came back from two-deficit defeat against Lorient and got one point. Two-goal scorer Ibrahimovic saved his team. Then they were hold to two goalless draws by Ajaccio and Bordeaux.


Before they visit Lille at Metropole Stadium, there was a high pressure over coach Carlo Ancelotti and his stars as they were unable to widn their first fixture yet and they were expected to defeat a strong side with Payet, Salomon Kalou, Mavuba and de Melo. If they faced a defeat, they knew that there were cruel critiques over the team.


After refree Ruddy Buquet blowed the whistle, Paris St Germain made a dream start as they took the lead with twenty-seventh second goal of Ibra-kadabra. Then Lille did not wait for a long time to level the game. On  12th minute, Chedjou scored his equaliser for the home side. He was assisted by the corner of Payet. On 21th minute, Swedish attacker took the lead again for PSG. With the contribution of Pastore, Ibra managed to defeat Landreau again.


Early three goals made the fans think that there will be a goal fiesta in the remaining time; but the scoreboard could just show three goals at the end of the game. The arrivals of Mendes and de Melo did not change anything for the home side in the second half and Ibrahimovic’s header was also cleared by Lille’s keeper.


When the full time whistle was blown, coach Ancelotti was happy to record their first league victory. Now, he will be looking for his first league victory at Parc des Princes.
