Genoa started the new campaign with 2:0 victory over Cagliari, but in the second round was stopped at Catania.
Still, the coach Gigi De Canio should be satisfied with his team performances. The atmosphere is good and almost all players are available for this match. I wrote almost as only Juan Vargas is expected to miss the fixture.
Juventus on other side started the new season with two victories. In the first round they beat Parma at home, while in the second obtain an important victory against strong Udinese. We must respect their results, specially the high 4:1 victory at Friuli. Sebastian Giovinco is in excellent form and he already scored two goals. The stand-in coach Massimo Carrera has two injury worries – Lucio and Simone Padoin. Of course, Antonio Conte has the last word about the starting eleven.
I think Juventus will win at Stadio Luigi Ferraris. Simply, the quality is on their side. They are in excellent form, the atmosphere in the squad is perfect and the players confidence is high. But there is something more, even not connect with the sport aspect of the match. Both Genoa strikers are strongly linked with Juventus. Marco Borriello is Juventus player and he is on loan at Genoa. Just to mention, this can’t happened in Premier league and some other countries, player on loan can’t play against the own club. The other striker Ciro Immobile is co owned by Juventus. I don’t want to say they will not give the maximum on this game, but I am sure they will be under some kind of pressure.
At the end I will mention Juventus have three victories and two draws in the last five mutual games with Genoa.
