Guingamp – Lens 10.05.2013

Guingamp is currently on the third place, two points ahead of fourth placed Caen.

With just three games to be played, this is an excellent situation and have to be converted into promotion. Still, Guingamp need more victories for that. I believe the players are well aware of the actual situation and they will give the maximum on this match. For this match coach Jocelyn Gourvennec has one suspended player – the midfielder Gianelli Imbula. Few more are struggling with injuries, but they are not important.

At this point I will mention Guingamp solid home form. They have six victories and one draw on the last seven matches at Stade du Roudourou. Guingamp is the second-best home team in Ligue 2. I think they are able to continue with the good results.

Lens on other side is without any target in the finish of the championship. They are on 11th place with 44 points, nine more then Niort, the team on the last relegation place. Because of that, coach Eric Sikora may experiment with the squad and rest some of his regulars. Even more, Lens is handicapped for this match. The important central defender Alaeddine Yahia is suspended, while the strikers, Yoann Touzghar and Jeremy Bela, are struggling with injuries. In addition, Pierre Ducasse is sidelined through groin injury. The possible absence of Touzghar is a big handicap for Lens, the coach Sikora simple have no adequate replacement. Touzghar is the team leading goal-scorer with 11 goals.

Lens is also in poor form in the last period. They failed to win on the last six occasions. I don’t expect something to be dramatically changed now.

At the end I will mention the tradition. Guingamp have four wins and draw on the last five home matches against Lens. I expect Guingamp to win again.
