Holland – Turkey 07.09.2012
Holland against Turkey on opening match in qualification for World Cup 2014.
Netherlands are looking to start with win over very good Turkey side at the start of the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign, after poor result what they had those summer on EURO 2012.
Hosts have new coach Louis Van Gal, the experienced coach couldn’t prevent defeat to arch rivals Belgium in his first game in charge, and even if it was just a friendly, it is important to note Oranje were completely outclassed by their rivals.
Van Gaal decided to get rid of several senior players such as Mark van Bommel, Nigel de Jong and Rafael van der Vaart, who made way for the likes of Bruno Martins Indi, Jordy Clasie and Leroy Fer. However, players like Huntelaar, Robben, Sneijder and Van Persie are all in the squad, and they make Holland favorite for first place in their group.

Turkey missed out on yet another major tournament after they were beaten by Croatia in the Euro 2012 play-offs, but new coach Abdullah Avci has done well to prepare the squad for start of qualification. Several experienced national team players return to Turkish Super Lig, while others like Arda Turan are doing their magic all over Europe.
Turkish coach Abdullah Avci faces some defensive problems ahead of the match against Netherlands, given that goal keeper Volkan Demirel is injured, while defenders Egemen Korkma and Semih Kaya are both doubtful.
My opinion is that hosts are stronger and new coach will be happy with victory on start of new campaign but i expekt at least three goals.
