Houston Dynamo – Real Salt Lake 07.09.2012

Houston take on Real Salt Lake this week and im going for Houston to win this match.

Houston have been in excellent form at home this season and of their 13 home matches they have won 8 and drawn 5 scoring 24 goals and conceding just 10 and only Seattle (7 conceded at home) and Kansas (10 conceded at home) have got close to that so they defend well and create a lot of chances which result in a lot of goals. They have scored in all bar 2 of their games and have scored 2 or more goals in 9 of their 13 home matches. They generally dominate their home matches and in 6 of them have had over 60% possession so they defend well, control the match well, have many shots on goal averaging around 7 and score on average 2 goals per match so are formidable opponents at home.

Real salt Lake are excellent at home but in their travels have been on a poor run lately having lost 4 of their last 5 matches and drawing the other 1 and 2 of those matches were against teams in the bottom 6 if you look at the entire MLS so they are really struggling at the moment. In these matches they only scored 1 goal and conceded 10 although 5 were against San Jose.

In summary RSL are on a poor run away from home at the moment and they are up against a Houston team who defend well, attack well and score well when they are at home so Im going for Houston to win this match.
