Inter Milan – Bologna 15.01.2013

Inter managed to win 2:0 against Pescara on Saturday. The victory improved the atmosphere in the squad after the hard 3:0 defeat from Udinese before that.

It is clear the players confidence are much higher at the moment. The coach Andrea Stramaccioni is not expected to make some big changes for this match, even it is expected Walter Gargano to replace the 18 years-old Marco Benassi. The situation with Wesley Sneijder is still complicated. Inter and Galatasaray agree about him, but Sneijder is waiting for some bigger European club’s offer. It is 99 percent sure he will not play on this match.

Bologna played a great match against Chievo on Saturday. They won 4:0 with goals scored by Panagiotis Kone, Alberto Gilardino (twice) and Manolo Gabbiadini. It was very important victory, specially because came after two defeats from Genoa and Parma. Before that Bologna managed to win twice against Napoli, once in Serie A and once in Coppa Italia. It is important to be mentioned that both victories were obtain at San Paolo. What is even more important, Bologna managed to turn the result on both games. The coach Stefano Pioli has no new injury or suspension worries.

I believe there will be at least three goals at Meazza. Inter will strongly attack, no doubt about that. Milito and Cassano will lead the attack, and both are hungry for goals. Milito has scored just one goal since early November and his double against Juventus. I am sure this is a perfect opportunity for him. Cassano last goal came exactly in Coppa Italia, against Verona. And don’t forget Palacio, his confidence is high after he scored against Pescara on Saturday. Bologna on other side play very good when visiting top teams. They scored 3 goals at Olimpico (won 3:2 against Roma), one goal in Torino (lost 2:1 from Juventus) and 5 goals at San Paolo (I already wrote they won 3:2 and 2:1 against Napoli). That is why I am expecting at least three goals on this match.

The last results in mutual games are on my side. Eight of the last nine games between two teams have finished with Over 2.5 goals. I expect the tradition to continue.
