Inter Turku – Twente 26.07.2012

The Finnish side produced quite a coup by holding Twente to a 1-1 draw in the first leg, but they will need to play another great game if they are to make it to the next stage. The Tukkers, on the other hand, are looking to make things right and progress into the next stage.

Inter Turku have been on the constant uptrend over the last few years and they are now in a position to fight for the Finnish Veikkausliiga title. After finishing last league campaign 24 points behind champions Helsinki, the team are doing much better this term and currently have a two-point cushion at the top of the standings. While Job Dragtsma’s side were very unfortunate to be pitted against mighty Twente in Europa League, they were extremely lucky to avoid defeat in the first leg, having been completely outclassed by their more illustrious opponents. Inter Turku are now flying high following a great run of results, but I seriously doubt they have what it takes to stop Twente from winning this game.

Twente have established themselves as one of the best sides in Dutch Eredivise over the last few years and they spent most of the previous league campaign fighting for the title. The poor finish of the season ended up costing them dearly, but at least the Tukkers managed to ensure Europa League qualification. The team have since stayed without attackers Luuk de Jong and Ola John, but they have reinforced the squad with Dusan Tadic, Andreas Bjelland, Dmitri Bulykin and Felipe Gutierez. Steve McClaren’s side did well to create a host of clear-cut chances in the first leg, but they were very unfortunate not to score more than one goal, although the odds are they will make things right in the return leg.

Of course it is much better known Twente and stronger team and is a reason, and the favorite in this match so it should come to victory in this match and pass the next round.
