Juventus – Milan 09.01.2013

Juventus is currently on the top of the table. They are playing another good season and have five points advantage in front of second placed Lazio.

My opinion is they are the best and most consistent team in Serie A and probably will defend the trophy. I know they lost from Sampdoria on Sunday, but I am sure the players will be extra motivated to win against Milan.

On contrary, the situation is not good in Milan. They sold the best players during the Summer transfer window. Without Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva, Milan showed big weaknesses in the new campaign. Alexandre Pato also left the team few days ago. At the moment Alegri’s side is massive 14 points behind Juventus. On Sunday they played against Siena. Even the guests were without the key player Calaio, Milan obtained a hard victory with 2:1.

It is clear everything is on Juventus side. Additionally, the Bianconeri have the home advantage. It is expected a full Juventus Arena in Torino and great support from the fans.

I also think Juventus have bigger roster. The coach Antonio Conte has four excellent strikers in Vucinic, Matri, Giovinco and Quagliarella. On contrary, Milan depend too much on one player – El Shaarawy.

Giorgio Chiellini is still sidelined for Juventus, but the team have used to play without him. The positive news for Conte is the returning of Arturo Vidal, who missed Sunday’s clash. Claudio Marchisio has recovered from injury. Alegri will be without injured Nigel de Jong.

As conclusion, I think Juventus will win here. They have the home advantage, the players confidence are very high and they will be extra motivated to win this match. Last season Juventus also played against Milan in Coppa Italia and managed to eliminate them. The last match in Serie A played in Torino also finished positive for Juve as they won 2:0
