Kofu – Urawa 06.07.2013

Kofu are currently on 13th place, with 14 points from 13 games. They were in awful form

before the international break, loosing the previous three matches in J-League. Here are the results:

25.05. Kofu – Omiya Ardija 0:3
18.05. Hiroshima – Kofu 5:1
11.05. Kofu – Shimizu 0:2

As You can see, two of the mentioned three defeats came at home. Even worse, they failed to score a goal. For this match Kofu are weakened as the defender Masaru Matsuhashi is suspended, while three more players are rated as doubtful – Takuma Tsuda, Ryohei Arai and Koki Mizuno. To be even worse, the coach Hiroshi Jofuku will miss the match through suspension. Coach’s absence is definitely a big handicap for Kofu.

Urawa Reds are fighting for the title. They played very good before the international break and have three wins and one draw on the last four matches in J-League. Urawa have scored 16 goals in last 4 games. Genki Haraguchi is the top scorer with 6 goals and he is ready for this match. Only two players are rated as doubtful – Mitsuru Nagata and Shinzo Koroki.

I will also mention that Urawa Reds reached the League Cup semifinal after winning 3:1 on aggregate against Cerezo Osaka. The atmosphere in the squad is positive and the players confidence are high.

Urawa Reds have a good mutual record against Kofu in the last period. Four victories in the last five mutual games are clear indicator of Urawa domination.

Urawa Reds are currently second, five points behind the leader Omiya Ardija. The difference isn’t small, so there are no space for calculations. They can’t afford to drop points anymore, particularly against teams like Kofu. Expect to win at National Olympic Stadium in Tokyo.
