The good news for the Laciali is that they do not have many absentees ahead of this game with the exception maybe of the attacking Brazilian midfielder Ederson (5 apps, 1 goal) who is injured and will miss out.

Cagliari on the other hand is struggling just above the relegation zone. The 2 points that they have collected from their last 8 league matches and the 5 consecutive defeats, are a strong indication of the underperformance of the visitors. Their lastest defeat was 1-3 to Juventus, however it has to be mentioned that they were forced to play on the neutral venue of Parma as their new home had not managed to get an approval on time. A long list of absentees and the fact that the players have not been paid their salaries in the last two months make things look worse ahead of this tough game.

It might be hard to predict 100% the shape of the teams following the Christmas break. However, the quality gap between the two sides is massive and Lazio should be able to claim three points easily or not.
