Man City – Hull 31.08.2013

After a shocking defeat to Cardiff City Manchester City welcome Hull City at their Etihad Stadium.

The hosts face a must-win situation in their race for the title, but the visitors will put a lot of effort to upset the Citizens.

Having finished last season in second position in the standings, Manchester City kicked off the new Premier League campaign with a 4-0 trashing of Newcastle. Even though everybody expected that Manuel Pellegriniˈs men would continue their winning run in Cardiff, the team suffered a surprising defeat to the newcomers. The Citizens took the lead in 52nd minute thanks to Edin Dzekoˈs goal, but the hosts battled back and totally deserved a 3-2 victory.

Manchester City have turned their Etihad stadium into a real fortress over the last few years, in last 49 home fixtures Manuel Pellegriniˈteam recorded no more than two losses and I believe that their brilliant run is likely to be continued this weekend as they welcome one of the worst Premier League sides Hull City. Seeing that the title contenders Manchester City face a must-win situation in every game they play, there is always a big value in betting on the Citizens.

As expected the Tigers kicked off their Premier League campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, but the team managed to pick up three points from the clash against Norwich City at the weekend.

Robbie Brady scored the winner and the team is surely brimming with confidence ahead of the match against very strong Manchester City side. However, seeing that the Tigers struggle on the road and given that the Citizens are a real force to be reckoned with at home, there is every chance the visitors will return home empty-handed.
