Three teams are sharing the top of the group F – Valencia, Bate Borisov and Bayern with six points. The French side Lille is pointless. This match is very important for both teams as Bayern have an easier task. I expect an interesting and efficient match at Mestalla.
Valencia is efficient when playing at home. They scored at least two goals on every of six official match they played at Mestalla – two goals against Atletico Madrid, Athletic Bilbao, Lille, Zaragoza, Celta and Deportivo. The team is almost complete for this match, only the long-term injured victims Sergio Canales and Pablo Piatti are sidelined.
Bate Borisov is one of the surprises in this season Champions League. They started the campaign in qualifications during the July and was close to elimination after Macedonian champion Vardar Skopje have 2:1 lead in Belarus until the 92nd minute. However, the more experienced team managed to turn the result with two late goals (92nd and 94th minute) and won 3:2. After that Bate Borisov managed to eliminate Hungarian Debrecen and Israeli Shmona to reach the group stage. And they continued with the good results with a 3:1 victory over Lille as guests. In the second round Bate Borisov made the biggest surprise – a 3:1 victory over European vice-champion Bayern Munich. The good series was stopped exactly by Valencia – the Spaniards won 3:0 in Belarus two weeks ago with Roberto Soldado’s hat-trick. For this match coach Viktor Goncharenko has no injured players, but will miss the midfielder Alexander Pavlov due to suspension.
I expect at least three goals at Mestalla. I already wrote Valencia have scored at least two goals on every match they played at home. And I already wrote that all three matches of Bate Borisov ended with Over 2.5 goals. It is natural to expect at least three goals on this match.
