Wigan – Tottanham 27.04.2013

Wigan sit in the bottom 3 at the moment 3 points behind Villa (who play Sunderland on monday night) and with a game in hand. Its obviously a huge weekend for both clubs with time running out these are the 2 teams which will probably fight for 17th position to stay in the top league. Villa may have the points advantage but Wigan and their manager Martinez know what it takes. They always leave it late but have a great record of doing enough to get out of it.

I think this manager deserves great credit for the way his side plays, its never hit and hope defensive football, we always see them try to pass and move with entertaining play. On their day Wigan can trouble any side- but their defending at times has really let them down. Id say this has been the worst team in epl once again for gifting soft goals. 60 altogether almost an average of 2 a game- thats why they are down there.

Spurs are a side i love to watch and AVB is a boss that will always take a chance and make the game worth watching. We seen a terrific performance last week as the side came from behind to crush Man City- its just a shame they cant put it together over a long period because there is no doubt Spurs 1st 11 is very very strong.

If Bale is not world class, hes not far away, i like Lennon his speed and movement is tough to combat, Defoe is a very experienced striker that can be deadly in and around the box. 23 goals lost away from home is just too high to challenge for the title though. Spurs could still grab 4th though and CL football which is so important these days- even more important than a cup.

I like the speed and movement in both of these attacks but worry a little about both defences. The most talented players in either side are in forward areas, Bale, Lennon, Adebayor, Defoe, Dembele, for Wigan, McMananan, Maloney, Kone, Di Santo. I think despite the importance we see a good game here with a few goals.
