Milan – Udinese 03.02.2013

I will start the preview with the tradition. The last mutual games between Milan and Udinese at San Siro were efficient.

Seven of the last eight games in Serie A finished with Over 3.5 goals. A total of 41 goals were scored on the mentioned 8 games which means an average of more then 5 goals per game.

However, the tradition is not the only reason for my pick. The other reason is called Mario Balotelli. As You probably know, he joined Milan from Manchester City and will make his debut on this match.

Mario Balotelli was mobbed by over a 1000 fans as he arrived at the Da Giannino restaurant, the unofficial AC Milan restaurant. The signing of Balotelli is the biggest acquisition Berlusconi and Galliani have made in the last few years. The fans expectations are very big, they expected goals from Balotelli and El Shaarawy.

Milan is also in very good form. They have seven victories in the last nine matches. At the moment Milan is only 6 points of a Champions League berth. The atmosphere in the squad is very good and the players confidence are high. The full San Siro will be an additional boost for them. Allegri has almost a full strength squad to pick from, only the long term injured players Nigel De Jong and Massimo Ambrosini are sidelined.

With everybody focused on Balotelli,

I think Udinese will be very dangerous at San Siro. They are in excellent form with three victories in four matches they played in 2013. The Zebrette have lost only one match, from the best team in Sere A, Juventus. By the way, the captain Antonio Di Natale was on the bench then. Key to Udinese success is the terrific form of the attacking pair Luis Muriel and Antonio Di Natale. Muriel has scored 3 goals, Di Natale 4 in the last 4 matches. I believe Udinese is able to score at San Siro too.
