PSG – Lille 27.01.2013

Paris Saint-Germain can climb on the top of Ligue 1 on goal difference with victory here. I am sure the players will be fully motivated to beat Lille.

And I believe they are able to do that. PSG have excellent players and they are leaded by one super striker – Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish international has almost a perfect record of 20 goals in 21 match. His partners on this match will be Ezequiel Lavezzi and Javier Pastore. They both scored in 3:1 Coupe de France win over Toulouse on Wednesday. I am sure their confidence is very high at the moment and that’s a positive moment for the coach Carlo Ancelotti. For this match he has Thiago Silva sidelined due to injury, while Alex is uncertain to start here. Mohamed Sissoko and Siaka Tiena are on African Cup of the Nations, but their absence is not too important.

The situation is complicated in Lille squad. They suffered a 2:0 home defeat from Nice in the last match. It is an additional problems for the coach Rudi Garcia, to loose games at home. The reason is very simple, Lille have just one win in their last 10 league games on the road.

The coach Rudi Garcia have two important strikers on African Cup of the Nations – Salomon Kalou and Ryan Mendes. Two more players are injured – Franck Beria and Antonio Mavuba. It is also important to be mentioned that the goalkeeper Mickael Landreau and the defender Mathieu Debuchy left the team.

I expect Paris Saint-Germain to win. The quality is on their side, no doubt about that. They are also in terrific form, with 9 wins and one draw in the last 10 matches in all competitions. PSG have good attack leaded by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and excellent defense leaded by the goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu. He has not received a league goal since the defeat from Nice on 1 December – a total of 686 minutes.

Finally, Lille is traditionally inferior when visiting the Capital. They have not won a league game away at the Parc des Princes for 17 years, since 1996. PSG also won 2:0 the reverse fixture this season in September 2012. I believe they will win once again.
