Udinese failed to qualify for the knock-out stage for the first time in their four UEFA campaigns. On other side this match will be the crucial for Liverpool.
They are ahead of Young Boys in second place on mutual record (won in Switzerland and played draw at Anfield) and will qualify for the knock-out stage if they win at Friuli. A draw could also be a good result if Young Boys do not win at against already qualified Anzhi.
Anyway, Liverpool have to play for victory on this match, even they are guests. The manager Brandon Rodgers already announced an offensive 4-3-3 formation with Suso, Suarez and Assaidi in the attack. It is important that Luis Suarez will play here. He is the team top scorer and he is the most dangerous striker in Liverpool squad.
Now about Udinese. They are not in contention for one of the first two places. However, the coach Francesco Guidolin said the players will give the maximum on this match. He announced a strong line-up, leaded by the captain Antonio Di Natale.
I expect at least three goals at Friuli. Udinese play very efficiently in the last period, specially at home. They are scoring and conceding goals on every match. The first match between Liverpool and Udinese was also efficient. Udinese managed to win in five-goals encounter. Liverpool had 1:0 after the first half, but Udinese managed to win 3:2 at the end.
At the end I will mention the absentees. Udinese have more missing players as Dusan Basta, Maurizio Domizzi, Luis Muriel and Mehdi Benatia are out injured, while Willians is suspended. Two more players are rated as doubtful – Andrea Lazzari and Giampiero Pinzi. On other side Liverpool will be without Fabio Borini and Martin Kelly, both injured.
As conclusion, I expect an open and efficient match.
